The Imo State chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has put an end to its internal factional crisis.
This was disclosed on Friday, September 19, 2026 in Owerri after former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa, who is the State Leader of the party, reconciled all warring factions and inaugurated a new State Working Committee (SWC).
Udenwa, who is leading the party in Imo State alongside other stakeholders, said the move is to reposition the party for victory in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the inauguration, the State Chairman, Barr. Reginald Uwakwe, said the party has commenced aggressive grassroots mobilisation with a target of 300 members per ward across Imo State.
According to him, new members are to register with their NIN or PVC through the party's online portal.
The South-East National Vice Chairman, Chief Tedy Obey, also urged party officials to focus on mobilising women and youths.
The new SWC is expected to set up Contact and Mobilisation Committee and Finance Committee to strengthen the party structure across the 27 Local Government Areas in Imo State.
